Rise for Me
Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information the Rise for Me app for Android and this website (riseforme.com) handle, where that information is kept, and the choices you have. In this policy, "Rise for Me", "we" and "us" mean the Rise for Me app and its team.
In short
- Your habits, routines, completion history and progress are stored on your device by default. Cloud synchronization is not available yet. Where cloud synchronization is enabled, synchronized data may also be stored in Rise for Me cloud services.
- You can use Rise for Me without an account. If you choose to sign in, your email address and sign-in identity are processed by our authentication provider, Supabase.
- Rise for Me has no advertising and no analytics or tracking tools, and does not sell your information.
- Questions about privacy: support@riseforme.com.
Information stored on your device
Rise for Me is built to work on your device. By default, the habits and routines you create, your completion history and progress, your reminder settings and your app preferences (such as language and text style) are saved in the app's storage on your phone. Cloud synchronization is not available yet, so Rise for Me does not currently store this information on its servers. If your device backup is turned on, Android may include it in that backup (see "Android device backup" below).
Where cloud synchronization is enabled, the habits, routines, completion history and progress you synchronize may also be stored in Rise for Me cloud services so that they can be kept and restored across devices. Before cloud synchronization becomes available, we will update this policy to describe what is synchronized, where it is stored, who processes it and how long it is kept.
Optional account and sign-in
An account is optional. If you choose to create an account or sign in, Rise for Me uses Supabase as its authentication provider:
- Email and password: your email address and password are sent securely to Supabase to create your account and sign you in. The app does not store your password on your device.
- Google sign-in: if you choose "Google sign-in", Google asks you to confirm in your browser and then shares your Google account email address and basic profile information (such as your name and profile picture) with Supabase so that you can sign in. Rise for Me never receives your Google password. Google handles this step under its own privacy policy.
- Account emails: messages such as email address confirmation and password reset links are sent to your email address as part of the sign-in service.
- Technical information: when you sign in, Supabase may process technical information such as your IP address, device or browser information and the time of the request to provide and protect the sign-in service.
After you sign in, the app keeps your sign-in session on your device so that you stay signed in. Cloud synchronization is not available yet, so signing in does not upload your habits, routines or progress.
Reminders and notifications
If you turn on reminders, Rise for Me asks Android for permission to show notifications. Reminders are scheduled and shown on your device; they are not sent through Rise for Me servers or a push-notification service.
Android device backup
If backup is turned on for your device, Android may include Rise for Me's app data in your device backup (stored with your Google account) and in transfers to a new device. This is controlled by your device's backup settings and handled by Android and Google; Rise for Me does not operate this backup and cannot access it.
This website and support email
riseforme.com is hosted by Cloudflare. When you visit it, Cloudflare processes standard connection information, such as your IP address and browser details, to deliver and protect the site. The website has no advertising, analytics or tracking scripts.
If you contact Support from the app, your email app opens with a new message to support@riseforme.com. To help us answer, the message includes limited technical details: the app version and build, the Android version and API level, the device manufacturer and model, and the app language. It does not include your account, any identifier of your device, or your habits and routines. You can edit or delete any of it before sending. Nothing is sent until you send the email yourself, and the app does not send these details anywhere else.
If you email support@riseforme.com, we receive your email address, your message and any technical details you leave in it. Support emails are routed by Cloudflare Email Routing and kept in a mailbox hosted by Google so that we can answer you and follow up.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your information or share it for advertising.
- We do not show ads or use analytics, crash-reporting or tracking tools in the app.
- The app does not currently offer purchases, subscriptions or sharing features.
Who processes information for us
- Supabase: account and sign-in, only if you choose to sign in.
- Google: sign-in, only if you choose Google sign-in; and the mailbox that holds support emails.
- Cloudflare: hosting of riseforme.com and routing of support email.
These providers process information on our behalf to run these services and may process it in countries other than the one where you live. We may also disclose information if the law requires it. If Rise for Me adds a service that processes your information, such as cloud synchronization, we will add it to this list before it is used.
Keeping and deleting your information
- On your device: the Rise for Me data stored on your device stays there until you remove it. In the app, Profile, Privacy and data, "Reset local data" permanently removes your routines, habits, completion history and progress from this device only. Uninstalling the app also removes its data from the device. Copies in Android device backups follow your device's backup settings.
- Reset local data is not account deletion: resetting local data does not delete your account.
- Signing out removes the sign-in session from your device. It does not delete your account.
- Your account: account information is kept while your account exists. Deleting your account is not yet available in the app or on this website. Rise for Me has not been publicly released, and a way to delete your account will be available in the app and on this website before public release. Until then, you can contact us with questions about your account at support@riseforme.com.
Security
Connections between the app and the sign-in service are encrypted (HTTPS), and Rise for Me keeps the information it handles to what the features above need. No method of storing or sending information is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
When Rise for Me changes how it handles information, we will update this page and its effective date.
